| Yes, you should limit your intake of sugars like candy and white flours. Whats most important that you are eating a good and balanced diet iincluding whole grains, lean protein, vegetables, fruits, and lots of water! If you arent really into sports it might take you some time to explore other things until you figure out what you enjoy. Just moving is exercise! | Question for moms with fairly chubby babies? My daughter is almost 4 months, at her last dr appointment at 3 months she weighed 16lbs 7oz ! She was 8lbs4oz at birth, so she has doubled her birth weight. The dr seems happy and not concerned the she is in the 98 percentile for weight (95%) for height and I am not really either, It just seems like she is in a constant growth spurt, my question is for you that have had bigger babies is when did you notice the weight starting to taper off a bit, if at all? I am not a big person and neither is her father... I just don't want her to be unhealthy, I am afraid she will be almost 40lbs by the time she is 1..Thanks so much. | Well, with my son his weight didn't start to even off until he was 2. He was 39 lbs and 38 inches tall. Now he is almost 4 and he is 45 lbs and 4 ft. tall. he was 10 lbs 3 oz 22 inches at birth. With my daughter her weight has been holding steady since 18 months. She is almost 2 but has been about 30 lbs since 18 months. She was 7 lbs 15 oz 20 inches at birth. |
| Breastfeeding moms whose babies are not chubby...? My girl is 8 mo. old and weighs in the 50th percentile for her age, yet I constantly have people telling me that she is so small for her age. | Although my 8 mo. old daughter isn't breastfed anymore, she started off skinnier than other babies as well. I think formula fed babies get a leg up on the competition in the beginning. What's funny is that some people tell me she's big, but then compared to every other baby I know (and I know a lot), she's smaller. I know a baby who is 2 months younger than her, and he's passed her in weight. Anyway, the point being is that chubby babies ARE cute.
